  • Refugee Sponsorship Conflict Resolution Training

    This project will train sponsors to manage complex issues and conflicts as well as receive immediate support, mediation and coaching from trained mediators, with the overall aim of reducing sponsorship breakdowns.

    The two-part training sessions include interactive exercises, role plays, and discussion. Participants will also receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of both sessions.

The workshop covers settlement topics such as housing, healthcare, education, employment, legal, financial, and social integration responsibilities. The workshop aims to help sponsors provide practical support to refugees and assist them in successfully integrating into Canadian society.

    The Post-Arrival Budget Calculation Workshop provides sponsors with the knowledge and skills to develop and manage a sustainable budget to support the settlement of sponsored refugees. The workshop covers housing, food, transportation, and other essential expenses and guides accessing available financial resources. The goal is to ensure a smooth and successful settlement process for sponsored refugees.

  • A G5 and CS Virtual Workshop on Post Arrival Support for Newcomer’s Mental Health

    The Post Arrival Support for Newcomers’ Mental Health Workshop is designed to provide sponsors with the knowledge and skills to support their sponsored newcomers’ mental health and well-being. Through this workshop, sponsors will learn about the common mental health challenges newcomers face, the signs and symptoms of mental health issues, and effective strategies for providing emotional and practical support.

    Sponsors will also learn about the resources and services available to support the mental health needs of their sponsored newcomers and how to access these services. By the end of the workshop, sponsors will be better equipped to provide the care and support needed to help their sponsored newcomers thrive in their new homes.
