Prescription Medication/Drugs
Newfoundland and Labrador Prescription Drug Program (NLPDP): provides financial assistance for the purchase of eligible prescription medications for residents. There are five main plans under the program: The Foundation Plan, The 65Plus Plan, The Access Plan, The Assurance Plan and The Select Needs Plan. Eligible clients receive a drug card for themselves and each member of their family.
Dental
Children’s Dental Health Plan: Universal dental care is provided for all children up to the age of 12; and limited coverage is provided to children age 13 -17 whose families are eligible under the Low Income Access Program (or are receiving income assistance from the province).
Other
Community Mental Health Support Services: Services include individual or family counseling and intervention services for low-income children, youth and adults. The service is provided through the regional health authorities.
