As per their obligations under the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) Program, private refugee sponsoring groups (Groups of Five, Community Sponsors, and Sponsorship Agreement Holders) are responsible for helping the newcomers they sponsored with accessing settlement support and relevant health care services.
During this virtual info session, sponsors in BC will learn about:
> Their Post-Arrival Responsibilities
> The Interim Federal Health Program
> The Medical Services Plan (BC)
> The Health Connect Registry
> The various organizations that can provide support with health care (medical/dental) and parenthood (focus on Lower Mainland BC).
As an added benefit, we’ve also invited representatives from the following organizations (based in the Metro Vancouver/Lower Mainland BC area) who will share more details about their services and how they are beneficial to sponsors and PSR newcomers:
> Mosaic Community Clinic (MCC)
> Mothers Matter Canada (HIPPY Program)
If you have any questions, please reach out to our British Columbia RSTP Trainer, Gizol via email at gshah@rstp.ca.
Please note, this session is being held online and starts at 11 am Pacific Time/ 1 pm Eastern Time.
