Becoming a SAH Information Session

This information session is specifically for organizations who have been incorporated for at least two years, and who intend to apply to become a SAH in 2024. In this webinar, you will learn about the eligibility requirements, the application process, and the required supporting documents for applying to become a Sponsorship Agreement Holder. If you intend to apply to become a SAH in 2024, please:
  • Register for one of the above Teams webinars to learn about the process, and
  • complete the RSTP Mandatory Training Pre-assessment Form If your organization is eligible, prepared and ready, you will be added to the waitlist for the Becoming a Sponsorship Agreement Holder Course (SAH101) and notified when it becomes available for enrollment.
ABOUT THE MANDATORY ETRAINING COURSE The SAH101 etraining course is a mandatory requirement for organizations who intend to apply to become a SAH in 2024, and have:
  • been incorporated for at least two years,
  • previous experience in private sponsorship and settlement of refugees,
  • the financial and human capacity to sponsor multiple undertakings each year.
This course is designed to provide participants with essential information about the eligibility requirements, the SAH application process, the SAH Agreement, SAH financial and settlement responsibilities, as well as best practices for monitoring and working with constituent groups/co-sponsors. The mandatory e-training course must be taken by:
  • the head of the organization,
  • the organization’s main contact for refugee sponsorship, and;
  • any signing authorities who will be designated as representatives for submitting sponsorship applications on behalf of the organization.
Participants can work through the materials at a pace and time that works best for them, however they are expected to spend approximately 6 hours to complete the course materials, and to obtain a minimum passing grade of 60% before a certificate will be issued. When will the mandatory SAH course begin? The course becomes available when the application submission period opens for 2024.
