  • An Evening with IRCC in Ottawa for Groups of Five and Community Sponsors

    Description:RSTP and IRCC will be hosting a series of forums across Canada in February and March 2020 for SAHs, Groups of Five and Community Sponsors.  This forum will provide attendees with an opportunity to: Receive feedback on application processing at ROC-O, including the main reasons why applications are returned, who should be listed as a party to the sponsorship and how sponsors can demonstrate they have the necessary financial and settlement capacity when completing the Sponsorship Undertaking and Settlement Plan form; Receive feedback on application processing from Visa Offices abroad; A look at program integrity/fraud issues throughout the application process; The financial and settlement responsibilities of sponsors under the PSR program; Review and discuss important post-arrival issues such as secondary migration and the post-arrival assurance and case review process; Review tools, resources and training available to Groups of Five and Community Sponsors; and, Provide feedback to IRCC on various aspects of the sponsorship process. Light refreshments will be provided. Space is limited and all attendees are required to register using the following link: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/an-evening-with-ircc-for-groups-of-five-and-community-sponsors-tickets-92234230065.  

  • Private Sponsorship of Refugees: Focus on Groups of Five and Community Sponsorship

    Description:The RSTP in the GTA is hosting a free workshop of three consecutive sessions on the Private Sponsorship of Refugees for individuals/groups who are interested to learn how to sponsor refugees, Group of Five and community sponsorship requirements. Session I: Private Sponsorship of Refugees–Overview 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm EST; Session II: Groups of Five and Community Sponsorship-Overview - 6:10 pm – 6:50 pm EST; and Session III: Application forms - 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm EST.  Topics covered will include: Eligibility and admissibility requirements for refugees being sponsored; How to identify an acceptable proof of refugee status; Groups of Five Sponsorship Required Forms and Documents; The sponsorship process; How to complete the application forms (bring your laptop if you wish); Recent changes and updates on the program.  For registration, please click: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/private-sponsorship-of-refugees-overview-group-of-five-and-community-sponsorship-tickets-89255095393.  

  • Information Session and Forms Clinic For Groups of Five

    Description:The RSTP in Calgary AB is hosting a free workshop comprising two (2) consecutive sessions on the Private Sponsorship of Refugees for individuals utilizing the Groups of Five (G5) Program. Topics covered in Session 1 (Overview of the G5 Sponsorship Program) include: Eligibility and admissibility requirements for refugees being sponsored; How to identify an acceptable proof of refugee status; and Sponsorship Cost and Settlement Support requirements. Topics covered in Session 2 include: Required Forms; How to complete the application forms (bring your laptop if you wish);  and Calculating In-kind Donation.     Description:Cette formation en français expliquera aux Groupes de cinq et aux Répondants communautaires comment préparer une demande de parrainage de réfugiés. Les sujets suivants seront abordés : * quels formulaires soumettre et où les trouver * comment démontrer la capacité financière du groupe de parrainage * comment remplir les formulaires de demande * comment éviter des retards de traitement.
