    RSTP is hosting a second Q&A with Alain Boucard, a Senior Quarantine Advisor at the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), on Monday December 14, 2020 at 2 PM EST.

    Alain will be answering questions in English and French on the mandatory requirements that all persons entering Canada during the COVID-19 pandemic must adhere to, including sponsored refugees.

  • Le rôle des travailleurs en établissement dans le parrainage privé des réfugiés

    Cet atelier virtuel outillera les travailleurs en établissement pour soutenir leurs clients réfugiés parrainés et pour appuyer le travail des groupes qui parrainent ces nouveaux arrivants. Les sujets abordés comprennent : * une introduction aux principes fondamentaux du programme fédéral de parrainage de réfugiés * le rôle du travailleur en établissement dans le parrainage des réfugiés; * les défis auxquels peuvent faire face les nouveaux arrivants parrainés; * les pratiques exemplaires pour la collaboration avec les groupes de parrainage et les nouveaux arrivants parrainés. Les travailleurs en établissement francophones de tout le Canada (à l’exception du Québec) sont invités à participer.

  • Preparing a Settlement Plan: The Financial and Settlement Responsibilities of Sponsors under the PSR Program

    This webinar delivered by RSTP for new and experienced sponsors will provide an in-depth look at the financial and settlement responsibilities of sponsors under the Private Sponsorship of Refugees (PSR) program, including: how long sponsors are expected to provide financial support to refugees sponsored under the PSR program; the minimum amount of financial support that sponsors are expected to provide to refugees on arrival and the relationship between the Sponsorship Cost Table and the Resettlement Assistance Program (RAP) rates; how to use the Minimum Financial Support Calculator to calculate the minimum level of financial support required on arrival; situations that may change the amount of financial support that sponsors are expected to provide once the refugees arrive in Canada; and, an overview of sponsors’ settlement responsibilities under the program and how settlement agencies can assist sponsors with fulfilling their settlement responsibilities.
