Conflict Resolution Training for SAH’s & PSR Sponsors

The Neighborhood Group (TNGCommunity Services, in collaboration with RSTP, is excited to announce that it is leading an IRCC-funded project to provide conflict resolution training and coaching to refugee sponsors.

The project intends to train sponsors to manage complex issues and conflicts as well as receive immediate support, mediation and coaching from trained mediators, with the overall aim of reducing sponsorship breakdowns.

Please see this flyer for details of the upcoming two-part training sessions. The first part will cover the following main topics, Cultural Consideration, Managing Bias in conflict, Conflict Sources, Conflict De-escalation, Active Listing and Setting Boundaries and the second part will involve interactive role plays.

The sessions will be repeated throughout the year.

To learn more about the project, please contact Rola Mustafa at TNG Community Services at: refugeesponsor@tngcs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are registered and are not able to attend, please let paznavezadeh@rstp.ca know at least a day in advance, as we will need to reassign roles within the groups. We are pre-assigning roles to each participant. One absence will dramatically impact the session.
