ABOUT THE COURSE
This introductory course is for those who are interested in learning about the private sponsorship of refugees. In this course you will learn about the different types of sponsoring groups, the Canadian immigration programs for refugee resettlement, refugee and sponsor eligibility requirements, the application process, settlement planning, calculating the sponsorship cost, overseas processing, and post-arrival responsibilities.
Participants will also be able to engage with the course facilitator, and other participants, and enhance their learning by participating in weekly video chat sessions and discussion forums.

1. Watch the Demo Video to learn how to create a user account if you don’t already have one. REMEMBER to write down/save your login username and password.
2. Request enrollment here to be added to the course. You can expect to receive a confirmation email usually within 24 hours (M-F during business hours).
3. Register for the Course Orientation Session here ( happening on Monday, 19 Jan 2026 at 4:30 pm Eastern). This orientation session will explain the course format, the quizzes and the final exam as well as due dates, grading, and navigating the eTraining platform. This orientation session will be recorded and posted in the course dashboard for those unable to attend the live session or needing a review.
