The Best Practice Series attempts to document and share best and promising practices within the refugee sponsorship community in Canada. The practices are compiled and presented in the Best Practice Series.<\/p>\n

The first publication of the best practices series is a collection of practices of various Sponsorship Agreement Holder organizations that are organized by theme with respect to handling case inquiries, case assessments, following the case, working with constituent groups and co-sponsors, settlement, and building capacity and fund-raising.<\/p>\n

In this volume, Sponsorship Agreement Holders, co-sponsors, constituent groups, a Group of Five and community partners across Canada share their insights, experiences and innovative approaches in the context of preparing and engaging constituents and local communities for the settlement of privately sponsored refugees. It includes 15 best or promising practice articles that aim to raise awareness, educate the public, engage community members, mobilize support and foster new partnerships in this broader context.<\/p>\n

In this knowledge-sharing document, the\u00a0focus\u00a0is on\u00a0five key areas:\u00a01) how SAHs find and authorize\u00a0CGs and co-sponsors;\u00a02) who completes the application\u00a0forms;\u00a03) the financial arrangements\u00a0made between SAHs, CGs and\u00a0co-sponsors;\u00a04) the roles and responsibilities of\u00a0each party in relation to the\u00a0settlement support offered to\u00a0the newcomers; and\u00a05) some successes and challenges\u00a0of working with CGs and co-sponsors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
