This entails many tasks, including (but not limited to):<\/p>\n<p><strong> Housing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>finding housing for you, or helping you to find housing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Orientation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>teaching you how to use public transportation, like buses and trains<\/li>\n<li>showing you around your community, and helping you to find the nearest grocery store<\/li>\n<li>explaining the laws in Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Health Care<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>helping you apply for your provincial health card and for the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP)<\/li>\n<li>finding you a doctor, dentist, and other health services<\/li>\n<li>explaining health services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Education<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>helping you enroll in English or French classes<\/li>\n<li>helping you enroll your children in school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Important documents and services<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>helping you open a bank account, apply for a Social Insurance Number, and if you have children, helping you apply for the Child Tax Benefit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Interpretation<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>providing an interpreter when needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Employment<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>connecting you with job search services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Resources and Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>connecting you with appropriate resources and services, such as a Settlement Worker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sponsors should also provide you with <strong>emotional and moral support <\/strong>as you adjust to your new life in Canada.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"button style1\" style=\"margin-bottom: 25px;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.rstp.ca\/en\/your-rights-as-a-privately-sponsored-refugee\/\">Back<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2.Settlement support for the duration of the sponsorship period.
