DESCRIPTION:This webinar provides an overview of secondary migration among Privately Sponsored Refugees (PSRs) and refugees sponsored under the Blended Visa Office-Referred Program (BVOR)\, focusing on the implications for sponsors and newcomers. Participants will learn what their sponsorship responsibilities are when refugees move to a different community than them. Participants will also leave with an understanding of their reporting and communication responsibilities and procedures\, and explore best practices for supporting the newcomer’s successful resettlement after relocation. \nWhat exactly is secondary migration?\nWhen sponsored refugee newcomers decide to move away from their intended community settlement (where the sponsors live) during the sponsorship year\, this is called ‘secondary migration’.
