DESCRIPTION:IRCC has announced a temporary public policy that enables Groups of Five and Community Sponsors to sponsor Sudanese refugees who do not have a refugee status document issued by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR)\, or a foreign state\, which formally recognizes the applicant as a refugee. \nRSTP is inviting all interested sponsorship groups to attend this training session and learn more about this temporary public policy\, sponsorship application process\, eligibility criteria and sponsors’ responsibilities. The training session will cover the following: \n– The details of the temporary public policy \n– Who can sponsor under this temporary public policy \n– Who can be sponsored under this temporary public policy \n– What are sponsors’ financial and settlement responsibilities \n– How to apply \nRegister Here\n  \nPlease note: IRCC will only accept new applications from Groups of Five and Community Sponsors for Sudanese refugees. You cannot submit new Group of Five or Community Sponsor applications for other refugee populations as there is a temporary pause in effect until December 31\, 2025. \nFurther information about this policy is available at: \n\nResettling Sudanese nationals affected by the crisis in Sudan – Canada.ca\n\n

Join us to learn how to submit your PSR application online\, through the Permanent Residence Portal (PR portal). \nIn this session\, we will cover information about:\n*how to submit the application package online. \n*how to navigate the new PR Portal and find out how to access it and how to log in. \n* the difference between a Primary Sponsor and a Principal Applicant – and the documents that each of them need to upload to the portal. \n*how to review your application in detail before submitting it online \n*common application mistakes that you can avoid making. \n  \nThe monthly webinars are a 5-part PSR program webinar series where attendees will learn how to become a PSR refugee sponsor by going through the entire process from A-Z. These webinar series can also be taken as refresher sessions for existing sponsors. \nRegister Here\nPlease note: this webinar starts at 4 pm EDT and runs for 2 hours.
