About the RSTP E-Training

Introduction to Private Sponsorship of Refugees

 

RSTP offers an electronic training course on Introduction to Private Sponsorship of Refugees and Settlement Planning. This course provides basic information on sponsoring overseas refugees to Canada. It is intended for people in Canada interested in learning about and getting involved in private sponsorship of refugees.

The objective of this training is to offer a flexible way of training on private refugee sponsorship issues and to reach out to new and potential sponsors in remote and rural areas of Canada.

 

About the course

The e-training course is divided into eight modules covering the following topics:

  1. Global Overview of Forced Migration and its Background
  2. Different Canadian Immigration Options
  3. Eligibility and Admissibility Requirements for Resettlement
  4. The Private Refugee Sponsorship Process
  5. Initiating and Evaluating Refugee Sponsorship
  6. Settlement Planning
  7. Processing of the Refugee Sponsorship Application
  8. Resettlement of Refugees with Special Needs

At the end of this 10-week-long program, students will complete a written test.
