    • A sponsor who came to Canada as a refugee claimant seven years ago, and now manages the refugee sponsorship program at Northwood Neighbourhood Services.
    • A sponsor whose experience with refugee sponsorship started in 1991, when the Holy Trinity Refugee Committee sponsored refugee families from Cambodia and El Salvador. Since then, the Committee has gone on to sponsor more than 120 refugees from many countries.
    • A Rwandan refugee, who spent over six years in Uganda waiting for resettlement to Canada. She was a teenager when she arrived in Canada in 2006.
    • A Palestinian-Syrian social worker who lived in Yarmouk refugee camp, and documented human rights abuses in Syria. After a terrible ordeal, she and her three daughters fled Syria to Beirut, Lebanon, where they had to live illegally for almost three years.
There will be a Q&A period to allow attendees to ask questions of the panel about their refugee sponsorship experience.
