As of June 1, 2016, IOM restrictions on late night and weekend refugee arrivals will be lifted for Syrian GARs and PSRs (all populations) over the remainder of 2016, with the exception of cases going to the province of Quebec. Sponsorship Agreement Holders, Groups of Five and Community Sponsors should therefore be ready to receive refugee arrivals on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as after 10 p.m. on weekdays. The usual 10 day standard for Notification of Arrival Transmissions (NATs) will apply. These arrivals are being expanded to facilitate IRCC’s efforts in meeting the ambitious 2016 admission levels for the Refugees and Protected Persons class using available commercial air travel.
Note that this applies to all refugee sponsorship streams and all refugee populations.
